What to Expect

We realize that visiting any church for the very first time can make anyone a little nervous.

Where should I go when I arrive?

We have a MAIN ENTRANCE, identified by prominent double-doors and located under the steeple. It does have a set of nine stairs, which must be ascended to reach our main floor lobby, though.  If you are unable to climb those steps, we do have a ramp entrance which is on the West side of the building (middle of the parking lot, to the left of the main entrance).

When should I show up?

Parking can be limited, but we do try to reserve a few spots just for visitors.  We have a good size parking lot, plus we have additional parking on the backside of the church (along Fairview Ave.).  We suggest that you try to arrive 15 minutes before the start of a service so that you can park in the main lot, enter the building, and be directed to where you might want to sit, all without feeling rushed.  Also, we would enjoy meeting you beforehand, if possible.

Do you have a nursery?

Yes. A clean, staffed nursery is provided during all services for children 3 years of age and under. If you do not feel comfortable leaving your infant in our nursery, we have, at the rear of the auditorium, a “bawl room” for a parent to sit with their infant and not worry about being a distraction if the child does “bawl” during the service.

What are your services like?

Our services are what is commonly called “traditional.” The worship music primarily is great hymns of the faith as well as some choruses. We do have special music from members of the congregation. The focus of all of our meetings is the public worship of God in “psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” with a special emphasis on expositional preaching and teaching of the Word of God.

Which Version of the Bible do you use?

Based on the teaching of the Bible and on the testimony of history, we are persuaded that the King James Version is the English translation that is faithful to the inspired and preserved Words of God that have been kept perfectly in the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus of the New Testament. If you do not have a copy of God’s Word in English, we will be happy to let you use one of our KJV Bibles here at the church building.

Do visitors have to stand up and say anything?

No, we would never want to embarrass a guest of ours. We will give you a connection card and ask you to drop it in the offering plate so we can have a record of your visit, if you choose to do so.

Am I Expected to participate in the offering?

No. We want our service to be a gift to you. As a guest, please do not feel any obligation to participate in the offering.

Other questions?
